Day 1: Arrival at the airport then visit Casablanca – drive to Rabat (Rabat sightseeing)
Pick you from the airport, Welcome and assistance, followed by a short drive for sightseeing tour of Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco. We will visit the exterior of the Hassan II Great Mosque, one of the Islamic world’s greatest monuments. depart to Rabat, the diplomatic and administrative capital of Morocco. You’ll have a short tour of the city’s important sights, like the Royal Palace, the Mohamed V Mausoleum and the Hassan Tower, before transfer to your Riad/Hotel. (BB)
Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Moulay Idriss Zerhoun – Volubilis – Fes
After breakfast, we will depart to Fes with a stop at Meknes or “the Moroccan Versailles”, founded at the end of the 17th Century by Moulay Ismail. Highlights will include Bab Mansour, Saharij Souani and the old Medina. Independent lunch and departure to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, an openair museum and the sacred town of Moulay Idriss I, where the founder of Islam in Morocco is buried. We will then continue to Fès. Check-in at your hotel, dinner and overnight stay Fes. (BB)
Day 3: Fes sightseeing escorted by an official local guide.
You will be picked up from your centrally located hotel in Fez in an air-conditioned vehicle. A bilingual guide (English and French-speaking) will accompany you on this tour. The highlights include, Andalusia Mosque: This stunning mosque is easily definable by its imposing green and white minaret, built at the end of the 9th century by a woman, its wood carvings are exquisite. Tanners’ District where leather is produced using the same centuries-old methods. El-Attarine Madrasa or the Medersa Attarine in the heart of the medina. The university attached to the mosque has been the centre of Islamic learning in Morocco for more than 1000 years. Azouia Moulay Idriss, the tomb of Moulay Idris is a highly revered shrine. Place Nejjarine, a beautiful fountain can be seen at the Place Nejjarine, a square deep in the heart of the medina. It is also home to the Nejjarine Museum of Wood and carpentry and showcases Fez’s renowned wood-carving tradition. The tour breaks for lunch at one of the local restaurants in the Medina. After lunch, continue with your guided exploration of the attractions outside Fez, including, Gates, Royal Palace, one of the most elegant structures in Morocco with a huge and impressive gate. Bab Boujloud, The Bab Boujloud gate is the most famous gate in Morocco. It is also the main entrance to the Medina. See the striking blue and green colors that cover either side of this monumental gate. Tombs of the Merenid Dynasty, a spectacular views over the city from this resting place of the Merenid Sultans who played a crucial role in making Fez the cultural and religious capital of Morocco. The ruins are a great place to take in the sprawling vistas of the Medina below. District of the potters: See where the world-famous cobalt blue enameled pottery is made. Overnight in Fes. (BB)
Day 4: Fes – Tetouan – Rif Mountain – Chefchaouen
Pick up around 9 am from your riad in Fez, we will drive to Chefchaouen.
Once you enter the poetic Rif Mountains and see a dramatic entrance of a wide set valley full of blue-washed buildings, you will recognize Chefchaouen, a welcoming town nestled in the Rif Mountains. Known as “blue city” noted for its buildings in shades of blue. Get settled your Riad, an Andalusian-style guest house, then enjoy a walk to explore the white and blue washed walls of the medina and the markets that offer some unique native handicrafts. Chefchaouen is a fantastic destination for photography with its wonderful views of the Mounts. . Dine at one of the hotel’s three rooftop terraces. Relax under a sea of Moroccan stars and enjoy a tajine and couscous meal complemented by an aromatic glass of red wine. (BB)
Day 5: Cefchahaouen – Tangier
After breakfast, a short drive to Tangier, a seaport and coastal city, for centuries the gateway to Africa from Europe. A local guide is waiting to take you on a private Tangier tour to help you discover the historic and modern-day charms of this bustling Moroccan city. Starting with a trip to the city’s famous Kasbah. Located atop of the highest point in the city, the former Sultan’s Palace (Dar el-Makhzen) overlooks Tangier’s Medina from behind its 17th century stone walls. Be sure to stroll through the palace gardens, and pay a visit to the Museums of Antiquities and Moroccan Art. Afterwards, a wander through the Medina will give you a good feel for life in the city – both past and present-day. Your guide can take you to an authentic Berber Souk (local market) and help you bargain for something special to take home. (BB)
Day 6: Tangier – Casablanca – Transfer to airport
After breakfast there is some time to relax on the hotel terrace, Before driving to Casablanca to catch our flight.
