Day 1: Arrival at Casablanca airport – After welcoming formalities transfer to your accommodation.
Upon arrival in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, we will visit the city, including a guided tour to the Hassan II, one of the world’s biggest mosques. (BB)
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat sightseeing
Enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of fabled Casablanca, Africa’s second largest city, where an elegant blend of Art Deco and Neo-Moorish buildings line spacious avenues. Next it’s on to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, where the bustling Medina (old city) still resembles the town created ages ago, and home to the minaret of the Hassan Tower. Sightseeing will also include the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the striking and evocative Oudayas Kasbah, and the ramparts of the Mechouar surrounding the Royal Palace. (BB)
Day 3: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Moulay Idriss – Fes
After breakfast, depart for Meknes, chosen by Sultan Moulay Ismail as his imperial capital at the end of the 17th century. The city was built with 20 gates, more than 50 palaces and 15 miles of surrounding walls. Following lunch , stop at the remarkable Roman ruins of Volubilis, with its mosaics and temples. From there it’s on to Moulay Idriss, the cliff-high holy city of Islam. Finally, arrive in Fes for check-in at your hotel / Riad. (BB)
Day 4: Fes sightseeing escorted by an official local guide
After breakfast you will begin our guided tour of the Fes medina, one of the worlds largest walled in cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven carpets and many other art objects of Morocco. A visit to the King’s Palace, the tanneries, and potters are just a few places we will experience. For lunch you will eat in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch you will complete the tour and return to your hotel for the evening. (BB)
Day 5: Fes – Atlas mountains – Beni Mellal – Marrakech
After an early breakfast, the group will depart for Marrakech. The beautiful drive will take you up into the Middle Atlas Mountains and along the base of the High Atlas Mountains. Once in Marrakech, you will check into your hotel and then head off to the Djemaa el-Fna, the center square of the medina. The famous Djemaa el-Fna, is one of the center attractions of Marrakech. Coming alive at night with the local storytellers, entertainers, and mouth-watering barbeque pits, the square is well worth a visit. A quiet cup of tea on the terrace of an adjacent café provides a spectacular aerial view of the bustling square. (BB)
Day 6: Marrakech sightseeing escorted by an official local guide
After breakfast, you will have a sightseeing guided tour of Marrakech, the southern pearl of Morocco. You will discover the Palace of the Bahia, the Saadian Tombs, and many other hidden treasures. After lunch, you will continue with the tour on to the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and the famous Djemaa el-Fna, one of the center attractions of Marrakech. The tour will conclude with an exploration of the souk (market). (BB)
Day 7: Djemaa el Fna at leisure – Marrakech - Casablanca
Your last day of travel will be in Marrakech. Free time will be given for any who wish to have some final shopping time in the old medina. In the afternoon, you will return back to Casablanca. (BB)
Day 8: Casablanca – Transfer to airport
You will be transferred to the airport for departure.
