Starting from Ouarzazate, the N9 road heads southeast into the Draa Valley, which is shaped by a narrow stream originating from the High Atlas. This water source intermittently surfaces in lush oases, particularly noticeable between Agdz and Zagora, covering a distance of approximately 95km. The journey from Agdz to Zagora typically spans three to four hours, with an alternative scenic route called Circuits Touristiques following the track through the oasis. Beyond this point, a road extends 96km further south to M’Hamid, a town situated 40km before the Algerian border. This marks the conclusion of the road journey and the commencement of the true desert landscape.
